The Dead Poets Society is a book written by N. H. Kleinbaum, adapted from the film of the same name. There are similarities but also differences, in that Kafka tends to set up impossible situations (such as a man being transformed into an insect) and then imbues his stories with such realism and attention to detail that the events become real. Chawton is a quaint village where Jane Austen lived with her family one hundred and fifty years ago. The novel's protagonist, Juliet Ashton, is a moderately well-known writer who has lost her home and thirsts for new adventure. That, and the fact that it seemed to have a bit of a premature climax before everything is settled down, but hey, I definitely caught the moral of the story: be careful what you wish for.
